About the Role
We're recruiting a Houseplant Supervisor to join a well-established and highly regarded garden retail business in Chelsea.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll take the lead within the houseplant department, acting as the first point of contact for customers. You'll combine strong plant knowledge with a commercial mindset, helping customers choose the right products while driving sales and delivering an excellent retail experience.
Working closely with the wider team, you'll ensure the department is consistently well-presented, fully stocked, and operating efficiently, with increasing responsibility for ordering and stock management over time.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day running of the houseplant department, ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and availability
Deliver excellent customer service, offering expert advice and creating a welcoming shopping experience
Drive sales performance, working towards weekly, monthly, and annual targets
Manage and maintain stock levels, including supporting with ordering, deliveries, and supplier coordination
Create visually appealing and commercially effective displays to maximise sales
Monitor plant health and minimise waste through strong maintenance and care practices
Handle customer enquiries, orders, and deliveries with strong organisation and communication
Ensure all processes, policies, and administrative tasks are followed accurately
What We're Looking For
Strong retail and sales focus, with the ability to engage customers and maximise opportunities
Solid horticultural knowledge, particularly with indoor plants and plant care
Excellent customer service skills - friendly, approachable, and professional
Highly organised, with strong admin and communication abilities
Good merchandising and display skills; a creative eye is a strong advantage
Proactive and self-motivated, with the confidence to suggest improvements and new ideas
Previous experience in a similar retail or supervisory role is preferred
