Are you a process driven buyer who can buy a variety of products and services to deliver value? If so, we'd like to hear from you

About Our Client
Our client is an established grower of a variety of produce across multiple farming sites. They are family owned and run and have a great reputation for growing quality products. They are very people-focused and their people are at the centre of what they do. They offer career progression and personal development - lots of the farm management team have come through the ranks and been with the business for years. They have sustainable growing practices which utilise the latest technology. The business has established relationships with breeders and suppliers across the sector and is known for its friendly and pragmatic approach.

About the Role
This role is all about secure the products and services that the business needs to grow their crops in an efficient and cost effective way. You will utilise your procurement experience to buy products in conjunction with the farm managers. The business uses a variety of crops, growing media, fertilisers, chemicals, trays, labels, utilities, machinery/engineering products - so any experience in these areas would be very useful, although a process-driven buyer with negotiation and relationship building skills will be most important. You will be able to travel to the farms and discuss the needs of the farm managers to ensure you source products that are fit for purpose and add value to the sites. You will organise tenders, build relationships with suppliers and source new suppliers where required to deliver savings. Internal stakeholder management and being part of the business family will be an important part of this role.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven background in procurement. You will be very process orientated to your buying and will be highly organised. A CIPS qualification would be ideal. Being able to communicate across levels of the business will be important, as you will need to understand what is required. You will be very organised and you will be able to run several projects concurrently. As this is a seasonal business, there will be different peak times where it is imperative that the business has the stock required to operate. There will also be potential Capex projects to buy for or some investments in big-ticket machinery and technology to enhance the business - so, you will be able to prove your ability to negotiate and deliver savings.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a proven track record in procurement, be highly organised, be a strong communicator and be able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also need to be able to travel between farm sites so a driving license is a must.

Application Process
The successful applicant will move through a two-stage interview process. The first stage will be via an online meeting before a face-to-face second stage.
