A great opportunity for an experienced or up and coming fruit ripener to join a leading banana supplier. My client is an international company, employing over 18,000 people around the globe, producing and distributing hundreds of thousands of tonnes of fruits and vegetables across 45 countries. They are looking for an experienced quality and ripening manager to ensure the smooth implementation of their banana ripening programme.

The Job:
To ensure the implementation of the banana ripening programme.
To liaise with colleagues in production areas and quality control, ensuring that they are aware of programmes and any issues arising from same.
To liaise with colleagues in production areas and quality control, for the conveyance of fruit to and from ripening rooms for ripening, production and sales.
Responsible for the training of Assistant / Trainee Ripeners.
Support the duty Ripener involved in the weekly planning.
Reconcile the stock on Rubicon based on a daily basis.
To continuously update ripening programmes / trackers.
Daily and monthly stock control and stock reconciliation
Understand and ensure implementation of a lean process.
Understand and ensure a fully auditable and traceable system.
To understand and maintain food safety standards, integrity, legality and quality on site at all times.
Any other duties that may fall within the capabilities of the job holder and that would be linked to support the operation, the pack house or the warehouse.

You will need to have experience working as a ripener in a fresh produce environment and be able to use stock management systems.

Shifts are on a 4 on 3 off pattern.
