About our Client:
Our client is an established international business that has gone through a strong period of growth in the UK. They supply a variety of products that are extremely focused on the environment and sustainability, across growing media and FMCG. They have established a strong relationship with a key customer and are looking to expand into other customers and markets. They are vertically integrated and have robust production and supply.
About the Job:
This role is all about developing relationships with the garden retail market. You will utilise your experience and contacts to drive sales with the independents, groups, retailers and commercial growers. You will be able to approach a number of customers in these areas to secure listings and help the business grow further. You will be able to work with the customers to develop the best range of products (brand and own label) that work for them and the consumer. You will be able to deliver new business and help accounts grow. You will be able to travel to the customers across the country and plan your time effectively to maximise the impact that you have.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering new business as well as being able to nurture accounts and help them grow. You will have a variety of account experience and have a proven track record in the garden retail market. You will be as comfortable pitching to a large national chain as you are a local independent garden centre or commercial grower. You will understand the benefits of peat free growing media and the environmental impact of sustainable solutions. You will be able to grasp the technical side of the growing media products and be able to communicate this with customers. You will ideally have experience in a start-up type business or challenger brand.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have experience in selling to the garden retail market. You will need to have experience that reaches a number of routes to market within this sector. You will also need to be a self-starter, a strong communicator and a good team player. You will need to be willing to travel to customers and spend time away as required.
