We are very excited to be working with a well-known fresh produce and food manufacturing business who are looking for a Seed Operations Manager to join their site in Montrose, Scotland.

The Business:

Our client is an international fresh food business with family values at heart. They are the largest purchaser of British potatoes and work closely with over 250 UK growers to ensure optimum crops are grown. Their seed potato business is based in Montrose, Scotland and this is where the role we are recruiting for is based. They are passionate about supporting British farmers, encouraging them to run sustainable farms.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the company's seed supply, sales, and distribution. You will be required to liaise with growers, customers, and legislative authorities on timings, grading, allocation, and delivery of seed stocks. You will support customers with sales, ensuring they receive the required product to the highest standard. You will look into logistics, reviewing prices and communicating professionally with everyone involved. You will have strong knowledge of the industry and understand how changes can benefit the business.

You:

You will be joining a small team at the Seed Potato site, and you must be confident in working collaboratively with your colleagues. Communication is vital in this role, as you will be regularly liaising, advising, and supporting farmers. You will come from a background in agriculture and have worked with potatoes in the past. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the potato market and industry across the UK and Europe. This role will be office based with elements of travelling, so you must be happy to regularly travel within your role and stay away from home when required.
