The Challenge

‘Tiptree’ is a Wilkin & Sons brand, which has been making conserves and jams for over 130 years on the Tiptree estate in Essex. MorePeople successfully tendered to lead on recruitment for a senior role within the business, a new Head of Operations. A key priority for Tiptree was to find somebody with the right cultural fit for the business.

Our Approach

We visited the Tiptree site for an extensive tour and the opportunity to meet with a wide range of employees in the company, including the existing Head of Operations and the team who would report into the newrecruit.

The job advert received a huge response and the MorePeople Operations team carried out pre-interviews by phone, following up with face to face meetings
with potential candidates. Having short-listed a number of suitable candidates, these were presented to Tiptree with a detailed explanation of the reasons for
their selection. Based on these recommendations, Tiptree were keen to see all shortlisted candidates and these interviews were facilitated by the MorePeople team.

Following an unsuccessful offer the first time around, we went back to the drawing board and repeated the process, successfully placing a candidate into the
role.

When recruiting for senior roles within a well-known brand, the response can often be overwhelming. Using a recruitment specialist takes away the challenge of screening applications, matching skill sets and short-listing relevant candidates. In this example, the number of candidates selected for interview was also high, and the time-consuming logistics of arranging interviews and obtaining and providing feedback were all taken away from the client.
