Sarah speaks at the BPOA Conference

6 months ago by

Last week, members of our Horticulture team, Sarah and Kieran alongside MorePeople Executive-Chairman Guy Moreton attended the BPOA Conference at the NFU Conference Centre in Stoneleigh. For those unfamiliar with the British Protected Ornamentals Association (BPOA), they aim to support the needs of growers particularly in R&D, marketing and the wider sector representation. By helping growers work together in order to move forward in an ever-changing marketplace. Their annual conference is the perfect way to meet other members and discuss the challenges faced in the sector.

Sarah attended the networking dinner and awards the night before the conference which was a highly valuable event for networking.

Sarah was also invited to be a guest speaker at the event where she gave a presentation on 'How to make a great team' during this presentation she discussed topics such as two-way communication, staff retention above salary, the interview and onboarding processes, good leavers and how the employment landscape is changing for businesses and employees. Her talk was attended by many of the delegates both in person and online. Her advice received highly positive feedback.

Kieran Duncan-Johal, Recruitment Consultant, Horticulture & Agriculture comments; "Stepping out of the office to attend the BPOA Conference provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with numerous fascinating individuals within the agricultural and horticultural industries."
