About Our Client
Our client is a manufacturer and distributor to the garden centre and commercial horticultural sectors. They supply a range of quality products and have a great reputation. They have a long-standing and serving team - this role has become available as a result of retirement - and a great amount of knowledge and skills to pass on. They offer unique elements in their products and services which help them stand out from the competition.

About the Role
This role is all about delivering improved sales and new business. You will work with a variety of customers within your territory to improve order volumes and deliver commercial results. You will utilise your experience in the garden centre and/or commercial growing industry to work collaboratively with customers and offer them solutions. You will be able to grow sales through effective account management and by approaching potential customers to gain business. Our client has a long term relationship with many of their customers and within the industry, so you will be able to work with customers to deliver over the long term and not just look for short term wins.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be based in the West Midlands / South Wales and have a proven track record in selling into the horticultural and garden sectors - growers and retailers. You will have a strong overall horticulture knowledge and be passionate about the industry. You will be able to build long term relationships with customers, focusing on solution selling for a range of products. You will be comfortable approaching new customers to develop new relationships. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to build YOY sales within the sector. You will have a great 'can-do' attitude and be a strong team player. You will also be a strong communicator.

Minimum Requirements
Due to the niche requirements of this role and industry, previous experience in a garden centre and/or a commercial horticultural grower is a must. You will need to be able to demonstrate your sales potential and rapport building ability. You will need to have the flexibility to travel across the West Midlands and Wales to visit new and existing customers. You will enjoy working towards sales targets and be a good communicator.

Salary
£28k + car, bonus, phone, laptop etc.

Timescales
Our client is hoping to have completed the recruitment process by September. There will be a hand over period with the retiring incumbent as well as the rest of the team. Likely start date of November.
