Our client is an established grower of a variety of fresh produce across multiple farming sites. They are family-owned and run and have a great reputation for growing quality products. They are very people-focused and their people are at the centre of what they do. They offer career progression and personal development - lots of the farm management team have come through the ranks and been with the business for years. They have sustainable growing practices which utilise the latest technology. The business has established relationships with breeders and suppliers across the sector and is known for its friendly and pragmatic approach.
About the Role
This role is about opening sales with customers outside of the client's core customer range, the major retailers. You will utilise your experience to open doors to new channels for excess products. The business has also created a new product after investing in new kit to create products from what would have been wastage and bi-products - your remit will include building a sales channel for this range of products. You will focus your sales on convenience, wholesale, foodservice and food manufacturing channels. Farmers markets, farm shops and eCommerce would also be options. The majority of excess products available is class one, with some class two available for sale too. You will also manage a small team to deliver results and drive them in the right direction.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of delivering new business and sales within branded fresh food or fresh produce to non-retail customers. You will be a determined and resilient individual who can deliver revenue streams and sustained sales. You will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial working environment.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a track record of delivering new business with non-retail customers and channels. You will also need to be a strong communicator and possess a can-do attitude.
The successful applicant will move through a multi-stage interview process that is likely to take ~3-4 weeks to complete.
