About Our Client
Our client is a leading family-owned business with a fantastic reputation across the sectors that they serve. They are a diverse and secure business with a fantastic history. The senior leadership team has a wealth of experience to draw upon and they have developed a range of products over the years which offers a point of difference as well as performing strong commercially. Whilst the shareholders within the business are likely to stay within the family, there is potential for someone within their business to step up to a director and sit on the board in the future.

About the Role
This role will focus on the commercial performance on the animal feed section of our clients business. You will utilise your experience in selling to farmers and/or pet retailers and wholesalers to deliver commercial results. You will be comfortable in developing the strategy for the channel and assessing the routes to market. You will also work with the customers to ensure continued commercial relationships and strong partnerships. Whilst some new business would also be of benefit, keeping the existing customers and continuing to deliver with them is more important at this stage. You will need to have an appreciation of the manufacturing process, and whilst all product/manufacturing training will be given, it will be important to keep this in mind when speaking to customers and never over-promising.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have ties to the agricultural or pet industries and have a proven track record of delivering commercial results across a range of relevant products to different customer channels. You will be an influencer or internal and external stakeholders and will be able to build lasting relationships with customers and internal teams. The culture of the business will lend itself to someone who is down-to-earth and willing to get involved and be curious about all of the products and what the team does to produce them. You will be comfortable presenting to retailers and supporting commercial proposals to negotiate large volume contracts and monetary. You will also be able to deal with smaller trades and accounts on your own and ensure the customer base is served correctly. You will be able to travel to the office every 1-2 weeks and spend time on the road visiting customers.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a proven track record of selling to farmers or the agriculture sector or pet retailers, with the skills and aptitude required to serve both sets of customers. You will need to be able to prove your ability to think strategically and build strong relationships. Flexibility to travel and stay away from home when required too.

Salary
Competitive basic, company car, fuel card, phone, laptop, pension, 24 days holiday etc + potential to move into a director role in the future.
