About our Client
Our client is a leading foodservice provider and specialises in a variety of fresh food categories. They supply national accounts through pub groups, restaurants, casual dining and out of home channels. They have helped some of the big high street names grow over the years and have a great reputation for quality products and service. The team is passionate about food and the job they do. The business is all about building long term relationships with its customers and to deliver the very best.

About the Role
This role is all about delivering new business and leading your team to see that the business grows. You will utilise your experience in the foodservice channel to identify and target potential new business. You will then use your sales experience and tenacity to deliver new accounts in the channel for the business. This role is all about hunting for new business and delivering growth opportunities. You will target accounts with an annual spend of £500k+. You will lead a team of passionate and driven business development managers to deliver results too. You won't be leading by sitting behind a desk though, you'll be on the front lines winning business setting the example for your team. You will be able to work with your team to identify and qualify business leads and maximise the sales that the team returns. The scope of this role could extend to potential food manufacturing clients too.

The Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of delivering new business within the foodservice channel with national accounts (£500k+ annual turnover). You will have drive and determination to succeed and be able to work towards sales targets. You will be able to utilise your time effectively and prioritise your efforts. You will be able to build strong relationships and manage and influence others - you will be a natural leader.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have experience in a business development function within the foodservice channel - national chains at £500k+. You will need to show a desire and hunger to progress yourself. You will be home-based, but be flexible and able to travel as required. You will need to be based in the southern half of England. People management skills are also a must.

Salary
As a guide, the role will likely sit in the £70-80k salary bracket, and will also include a car, bonus and a strong benefits package. Some flexibility on salary grade for the right candidate.
