Are you an experienced quality professional looking to step away from the line and manage a team of QCs?

Are you detailed orientated, pragmatic, and experienced in quality and fresh produce?

What's in it for you:

As a head QC, you will be working closely with the packhouse manager and Farm Operations Manager. Your experience will help you advise on strategies to the senior decision-makers of the company, allowing you to influence a business with your expertise.

This role is a mix between office work and packhouse/farm work. So you'll finally have a good balance of your working responsibilities and environment.

The business is located in a picturesque, old market town, which offers amazing scenic routes, and historical architecture, so those peaceful evenings and weekends will finally feel relaxing.

The team involved is small, and friendly. This company strives for inclusivity amongst its team and employees. A small team gives you a better chance of being heard and adding value. Team activities are available to be a part of after hours, which would be great in the summer.

If you need to relocate, temporary accommodation is available for you on-site to get started as soon as possible. Makes things a whole lot easier right?

For any overtime (above 48h) higher hourly pay is given as well, which would be amazing to profit on during peak seasons (June + July)

The Company:

The company grows, picks and packs raspberries, apples, and potatoes. They are also one of the main suppliers of their produce to some of the major UK supermarket retailers.

Founded in the early 1900s, the company prides itself on being a family-owned business in its third generation.

Being partnered with some other major companies, the company automatically offers security within their team, adding to their great average on tenure. What's more important than security and value within a role in the industry's current climate?

The Role:

  • Smooth running of packing line
  • Implement necessary procedures relating to customer standards
  • Training new QC's
  • Be involved with audits (BRC, Tesco, Red Tractor etc)
  • Ensure hygiene standards are met
  • Quality inspections on fruit
  • Complete packhouse documentation
  • Cover for packhouse manager when absent

Are you the right person?

If you have…:

  • Experience working in quality control (essential)
  • Fresh produce experience (essential)
  • Soft fruit experience (desirable)
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised
  • Supervisory or Management experience
  • Flexibility during peak seasons

… then you'll be suitable for this role.
