About the Business

We're working with a well-established, family-run horticultural business based on the North West coast of England. With a strong heritage in growing and supplying seasonal bedding plants, the company operates across multiple sites and supplies independent garden centres and retailers across the UK.

Due to continued growth and internal changes, they are now looking to bring in a new Site Supervisor at one of their key locations.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on supervisory role at their Formby site, overseeing day-to-day labour and supporting production activities including planting, picking, and general plant care. The site is fast-paced and seasonal, so flexibility, good judgement, and a proactive approach are key.

While experience in horticulture is ideal, candidates from FMCG, food production, or fast-paced logistics will also be considered, particularly if you're used to managing people, solving problems, and keeping operations running efficiently under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading daily site operations and supervising seasonal teams
* Managing weekly workload planning and team deployment
* Monitoring stock movement and ensuring efficient product flow
* Supporting planting and picking activities across busy seasonal windows
* Communicating with colleagues at other sites and reporting to senior leadership
* Upholding site standards for safety, productivity, and quality

What We're Looking For

* Background in horticulture, produce, or FMCG is desirable
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Proactive problem-solver who can adapt to changing priorities
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Comfortable with hands-on, physical work in a seasonal environment
* Enthusiasm for working in a growing, fast-moving business

The Offer

* £32,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on experience
* Monday-Friday schedule, with weekend flexibility during peak seasons
* Varying team size across the year (approx. 45 in peak summer, 30-32 off-peak)
