Head of Commercial Development

As Head of Commercial Development, you'll sit at the heart of our senior leadership team, helping to define and deliver the next stage of BASIS's growth. From building high-value partnerships to leading a strong internal team, you'll have real scope to make an impact, both within the business and across the wider food and land-based industries.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and executing a commercial strategy that delivers sustainable income growth.

  • Building strategic partnerships with organisations across the agri-food and land-based sectors.

  • Leading the marketing and communications agenda to grow the BASIS brand and audience engagement.

  • Overseeing public affairs activity, including stakeholder relationships and policy engagement.

  • Managing budgets, performance, and reporting across commercial and marketing operations.

  • Mentoring and developing a team of commercial and marketing professionals.

  • Reporting to the Board and SLT, contributing to business-wide planning and performance.

What You'll Bring

  • A strong track record in commercial leadership, business development or marketing, ideally within food, agriculture, land-based or environmental sectors.

  • Experience building partnerships and securing revenue from strategic clients or industry bodies.

  • An ability to lead people, communicate clearly and influence at senior levels.

  • A data-informed, outcome-driven mindset - capable of shaping plans and delivering results.

  • Strong organisational, financial and planning skills.

  • Credibility and confidence representing a respected industry organisation.
