Are you an experienced horticulture or food and fresh produce profeessional with a head for operations and management? Set in the beautiful rural surroundings of Perth, this is a fantastic opportunity to take a key role in a long-established, family-run nursery. Our client, who has been operating for over 45 years in the trade, is looking for a Nursery Foreman / Manager to join their close-knit team. You'll be stepping into a hands-on leadership role with on-site accommodation provided, only needing to cover your utilities.

About the role

This is a varied and active role where you'll oversee daily operations across the nursery, from managing seasonal and permanent staff to coordinating production lines and outgoing deliveries. You'll be a key player on-site, ensuring smooth, efficient nursery operations throughout the year.

  • Work alongside 4-5 full-time permanent staff who help coordinate and support up to 45 seasonal workers during peak periods (mainly students).

  • Oversee production and packaging across 4 main packing groups

  • Schedule and manage incoming and outgoing deliveries

  • Ensure smooth operational flow and staff supervision across busy periods

  • Help maintain a positive, informal, and hard-working team environment

  • Be a strong, visible presence on site - especially through peak season (May to late June)

What's in it for you?

  • £38,000 salary (negotiable depending on experience)

  • Free on-site accommodation (you cover services only, no rent required)

  • A genuine opportunity to become part of a long-standing, respected family-run business

  • Flexible, seasonal workload - with more hours in peak, quieter winters

  • Plenty of autonomy to shape the role and help grow the operation

Ideal Candidate

  • ✅ Have experience in horticulture or food/fresh produce production
  • ✅ Be confident managing staff and coordinating operations
  • ✅ Be hands-on and present on site - especially during peak season
  • ✅ Hold (or be willing to get) a Forklift licence and a C1 licesne
  • ✅ PA1/PA6 would be a bonus - but training is available
  • ✅ Enjoy working in a light-hearted, informal environment with a dedicated team
