Plant Area Manager
Contracted Hours: 40 hours/week Alternate Weekends
Salary: Dependent on experience
Looking to step up into management and join a respected horticultural business with real progression prospects? This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid plant knowledge to step into a management position.
Join a well-established garden centre known for quality, customer care, and a supportive team culture. With 15 staff across the centre and 5 in the plant area, you'll take a key role in operations while developing your leadership skills in a busy, plant-focused environment.
Your Role:
As Plant Area Manager, you'll be stepping into a hands-on position that supports the day-to-day running of the plant department. You'll help maintain high standards in plant care, displays, and customer service, while gradually taking on more responsibility and team oversight.
- Strategic development and planning of the plant business
- Supporting the General and Assistant Garden Centre Managers
- Leading the plant team to deliver exceptional customer service
- Managing KPIs, including sales growth, stock loss, and waste
- Maintaining high standards across the sales floor
- Weekly plant ordering to ensure seasonal and appropriate stock levels
- Assisting with recruitment and team development
What We're Looking For:
- Strong horticultural knowledge and a genuine interest in plants
- Retail experience - ideally in a garden centre or plant-related setting
- Team-focused, proactive, and customer-service driven
- Eager to learn, grow, and develop long-term
